How long does a garage floor take?
Most two- and three-car garages are a one- to two-day install. Grinding and repairs happen on day one, the coating build follows, and you are typically walking on it within 24 hours and parking on it in about three days depending on the system and temperature.
Why grind the concrete first?
Grinding opens the pores of the slab so the basecoat anchors mechanically into the concrete. Acid etching and pressure washing leave the surface closed, which is the single most common reason coatings peel in sheets a year or two later.
Is this just garage paint?
No. Garage paint is a thin single-coat product that sits on the surface. What we install is a multi-layer system — bonded basecoat, broadcast flake and a protective topcoat — measured in mils, not coats, and rated for hot tires, salt and chemical spills.
Will a coated floor be slippery?
You choose the slip profile. Flake texture alone adds grip, and we can add fine aggregate to the topcoat for wet areas like patios, pool decks and entryways. We will walk you through the options against how the space actually gets used.
Can cracked or damaged concrete be coated?
Usually yes. Cracks, joints, pits and spalled edges get cut, filled and re-profiled before any coating goes down. The exception is a slab with active structural movement or unresolved moisture — we test for both and tell you before quoting.
Do you also handle commercial floors?
Yes. Shops, warehouses, service bays and showrooms. Commercial work is scoped around your operating hours with fast-return systems where downtime matters, and every scope comes with product data sheets and cure windows in writing.
